End of the Road

Monday July 6

Those of you who know me have probably never heard me talk about this before. I am not a religious man. Although I don't subscribe to any specific religion, I have to acknowledge its presence on this journey. I acknowledge the deep faith present in the hearts of those working the shelters and I see its power as a catalyst to recovery. To me the most effective groups operate like businesses balanced by their belief. Ramin referred to them as businesses operated by angels. I can't say I disagree.

Thanks to every one who supported the run. Special thanks to all the shelters who opened their doors to us and who hold their doors open to those in need.

Brent

  1. Dear Brent & Ramin,

The Bible says we will always have the poor with us, so we are to be open-handed and generous with our neighbours.

Thank you for making this trip across Canada to meet the poor and needy. Your generosity and enthusiasm have been an encouragement to those of us on the front lines all across our country.

While you came to deliver underwear, and perhaps a day in the media spotlight, you gave us so much more.

I am sure you are looking forward to being reuninted with family and friends. But I wanted you to know that you also have a new family with those of us in Rescue. Thank you again, friend!

    God bless,

  2. Brent & Ramin,
Days like "Undy Monday" are some of my favorite in the course of the ministry here. They serve to remind us all of what we do. It is always so encouraging when we see someone else "catch the vision" for the people that we serve and the needs that are in our country!
Bless You for making the time, the effort, and the trip to be a part of what these Missions are doing across the country!
God Bless You Both and your families as well.

  3. Brent & Ramin,
A HUGE thank you from The Ottawa Mission and those who depend on it for hope and dignity.
Although your visit was brief (no pun intended!) your impact will be felt for months.
Thank you again for sharing your determination and inspiration to make a difference.

    God bless you and yours,

  4. Brent, it was a pleasure to meet you!! I love the entrepreneurial spirit that you possess! Thanks for letting all of us here at Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission be a part of this drive. It was a lot of fun!

I hope you like the autographed boxers, we're actually discussing the idea of marketing a line of mission clothing (boxers included) in the near future. Me thinks we must have caught some of that "e spirit" that you possess.

And the idea you have for helping address the "banking needs" of the poor; fantastic!

Ramin you rock! I love your heart for youth, we'll bring you back when we're ready with the centre.

All the best, hopefully we can connect again soon.

P.S. It took for of us to figure out how to spell "entrepreneurial"
